  • Project: Weldon Primary School
  • Client: Weldon Church of England Primary School
  • Architect: Corby, Northamptonshire
  • Scotts of Thrapston in Northamptonshire have 95 years' expertise in the equestrian and garden buildings sector but recently decided to try and break into the education sector by supplying modular classroom buildings. Weldon Church of England Primary School needed a replacement for a 20-year-old modular building as pupil numbers had doubled to 200+ in just over 40 years.

  • fermacell was used to dry line a new primary school to enable the main contractor, Interserve Construction, to accelerate the construction programme. 3000 m2 of fermacell's 12.5mm square-edge panels have been used throughout the £5.5 million Lane End Primary School in Breeston, Leeds, which now caters for 420 three to eleven year olds.

  • The £36 million Ellon Academy Community Campus in Ellon, Aberdeenshire, has made use of fermacell BBA-approved 12.5mm gypsum fibreboards throughout the main teaching block as well as the company’s cement bonded water and fire-resistant Powerpanel H20 boards in the area of the school’s 25m competition-standard swimming pool.
